Tarlatan is a heavily sized, open-weave cotton used to remove excess ink from an intaglio plate while leaving ink in the etched lines. An essential tool for clean, controlled intaglio printing.

Coarse Weave: A softer, more open weave for the initial wipe. It holds more ink, making it ideal for quickly removing excess surface ink while keeping ink in the etched lines.

Fine Weave: A firmer, tighter weave for secondary and final wiping, offering greater control when refining plate tone and cleaning delicate details. It can also be used in bookbinding as a spine lining or reinforcement.
