The Design:

Amy and John initially came to me with the idea of an arch-shaped invitation, inspired by the stained glass windows of The Great Hall. Through our conversations, I suggested we could take that idea further and explore the pattern and detail of the windows throughout the suite — something they were really excited about.

Rather than recreating the stained glass itself, I developed patterns that gave a subtle nod to it, using tonal debossing to create texture across the stationery and carrying the pattern through to create a textured border on the details card. We also found quiet ways to weave John’s Chinese and Amy’s Scottish and Danish heritage into the artwork — small details that reveal themselves on closer inspection. The typography felt naturally at home with the architecture and style of the venue, while warm gold ink gave the suite a sophisticated finish.
